Ingredients

  • 1 (32-ounce) bag of frozen tater tots
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional

  • diced jalapeños for extra spice

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the Oven. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Spread the frozen tater tots in a single layer on a baking sheet.

Step 2

Bake the Tots. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden and crispy, flipping halfway through for even browning.

Step 3

Add Cheese. Remove the tater tots from the oven and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top. Return to the oven for an additional 3-5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Step 4

Add Toppings. Remove the tater tots from the oven. Sprinkle the crumbled bacon and chopped green onions on top.

Step 5

Serve. Transfer the loaded tater tots to a serving platter. Drizzle with sour cream, season with salt and pepper to taste, and add jalapeños if desired.

Step 6

Enjoy. Serve immediately while hot and crispy!

Recipe tips

For a stronger flavor, use sharp cheddar cheese, which complements the bacon and tots perfectly. Bake the tater tots a few extra minutes if you prefer them extra crispy, but watch closely to prevent burning. Feel free to add toppings like diced tomatoes, olives, or even guacamole for a fun twist!
