Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 12 mini slider buns
  • 6 slices of cheddar cheese (cut in half)
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • Pickles, lettuce, and tomato slices (optional toppings)

Directions

Step 1

Prepare the patties. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with garlic powder, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Mix gently until the seasonings are evenly distributed. Form the beef mixture into 12 small patties, each about 2 inches wide.

Step 2

Cook the onions. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onions and sauté for 3-4 minutes until soft and translucent. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Step 3

Cook the patties. In the same skillet, cook the beef patties for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through. Add half a slice of cheddar cheese to each patty during the last minute of cooking to let it melt.

Step 4

Assemble the sliders. Spread a layer of mayonnaise and ketchup on the bottom half of each slider bun. Place a beef patty on top, followed by the sautéed onions. Add optional toppings like lettuce, tomato slices, and pickles if desired. Cover with the top bun.

Step 5

Serve the sliders immediately while hot. They’re great on their own or paired with fries or a simple side salad.

Recipe tips

Use a mix of ground beef with a higher fat content (80/20) for juicier patties. Toast the slider buns for added flavor and texture. Experiment with different cheeses like pepper jack or Swiss to change up the flavor profile. Add a dab of mustard or barbecue sauce to your buns for an extra kick.
