Ingredients

  • 4 large marshmallows
  • 4 graham cracker sheets (broken in half to make 8 squares)
  • 4 squares of milk chocolate (or dark chocolate, if preferred)

Directions

Step 1

Prepare your s’more ingredients. Break the graham crackers in half and lay them flat on a plate. Place a square of chocolate on top of four of the graham cracker halves.

Step 2

Toast the marshmallows. Roast the marshmallows over an open flame (such as a campfire or a stovetop flame) using a long skewer, or toast them under the broiler in the oven for about 1–2 minutes until golden brown and gooey. Make sure to rotate them to toast evenly.

Step 3

Assemble the s’mores. While the marshmallow is still hot, carefully place it on top of the chocolate. Sandwich the toasted marshmallow with the remaining graham cracker halves, pressing down gently to melt the chocolate.

Step 4

Serve and enjoy! Eat while warm and gooey for the best flavor.

Recipe tips

If you want the chocolate to melt faster, place the graham cracker with the chocolate square in the microwave for a few seconds before adding the marshmallow. Dark chocolate or flavored chocolate bars (like caramel or mint) can give your s’mores a unique twist. A spread of peanut butter, Nutella, or sliced bananas can be added before sandwiching for extra flavor.
