Ingredients

  • 2 oz tequila (blanco or reposado)
  • 1 oz triple sec or orange liqueur
  • 2 oz apple cider
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • Ice cubes
  • 1-2 tbsp granulated sugar and ½ tsp ground cinnamon, for rimming
  • Apple slice and cinnamon stick, for garnish (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Prepare the Rim. In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon together. Rub a lime wedge around the rim of a glass, then dip the rim into the cinnamon-sugar mixture.

Step 2

Mix the Margarita. In a cocktail shaker, combine tequila, triple sec, apple cider, lime juice, and a handful of ice cubes. Shake well for 15-20 seconds until chilled.

Step 3

Serve. Strain the mixture into the prepared glass over fresh ice. Garnish with an apple slice and a cinnamon stick, if desired.

Recipe tips

For extra flavor, use spiced apple cider or add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg into the shaker. If you prefer a sweeter margarita, add a touch of maple syrup or honey. Try a reposado tequila for a richer, oakier flavor that complements the apple cider well.
